My opinions have been warped by the expectation of timidness. By the expectation to voice your opinions at the right time and place, and of course with the right octave. Some subjects require an upheaval of this old role of quiet, dainty women, as the shock value of it all needs to be noticed. When people get caught up with the defeat, radicalization is born. Many believe an opinion is one entity, one that cannot be juxtaposed with another, the root of radicalization. Taking a different route to achieve the same goal, and digging your claws deeper into the issue than was possibly needed. When people need to come to a conclusion, they take the strong point of view. I do not ever remember living in a world where someone had a neutral stance; open to interpretation and critique. I have voiced this over and over, and will continue to drive the point home that our opinions are the foundation of being. Without, we will be forced to drift from phase to phase, from fad to fad, until we cease. We will have nothing to ground us to one philosophy, or a couple hundred. It is a waste of space and time for a human being not to voice their opinion, to make their stance known, to try and move forward towards change. It is what makes the world go round. The most heard people are the ones ever-present to say what they are thinking, and to speak and have themselves known. If you do not care to pursue a stance on anything, you have no reason to be benefitting from others persistence towards change. You have no right to fall under the regime of opinionated people who stand to make decisions and to push culture forward, if you are not willing to take control once they are gone. Following will not be tolerated in the ever-changing culture we find ourselves in. I can only hope that many, especially the young, will realize what power your opinions hold over the course of Earth. Whether they are radical or not is truly not up to you, but up to those hearing said opinions. They will base your opinions off of theirs, rank them as opposed to their own. If their ideals and opinions are not steadfast, your ‘set in ways’ approach is going to seem so far out of the box, beyond total comprehension. And what people do not understand, they fear and criminalize. Instead of exploring the knowledge that could be on the tip of their tongue, they only retreat farther into their principles, because why change? Why progress? Why change your brain waves? Our brains are meant to be molded, to be pushed to extremes, because the world is extreme. One extreme side of any debate is going to be the downfall of the debate in its whole. If you have no room to change, you have no room to make change. There is not a space in the stands for those wishing to be apart of the change, in a purely theatrical performance of changing others, but never themselves. Activism comes with a lot of complexes. Those who wish to save, in order to save themselves. Those who hope to never raise disturbance, but to only follow fads. Those not willing to stand up at every single moment and voice themselves and what they must fight for. It’s selfish and cowardly to only stand in the winnings of those before you, and not continue their legacy through your own works. I would like to conclude this passage with the idea of give and take. The natural balance must have both, hence the balance. We cannot take and take and take from those that give, and expect life to forever work that way. It is soon going to be the new generation’s time to be energetically drained.
